Any ideas? (ID from corm)

LG_LG_ Posts: 4,360

My brother has just dug these out of a pot and has no recollection of what was growing in there, nor which way up they should go. I reckon those are shoots, rather roots - do you agree? And any idea what they might be (in order to plant again at the right depth)? I thought they looked a bit like imperial fritillaries, but I think he'd know if he had those! Cyclamen? Or what?

They don't look like cyclamen corms.

They look more like lily bulbs to me and I think they are shoots.

My lily bulbs had reddish skins
    In London. Keen but lazy.

They don't look like any lily bulbs I've ever grown, but I've just seen pictures of calla lily bulbs which do look similar - as do Liatris, I agree. I'll ask him if either of those ring a bell. Thank you.

This is what came up. I'm still stumped.

The bulbs look very like my Zantedeschia bulbs.  The leaves are roughly the right shape, and there is some slight streaking on them, which we have on some of our varieties.

They look a little like my canna:

I’d be more inclined towards Zantedeschia as well. They don’t look quite right for cannas.
