chrysanthemums

I would like to know if by pinching out the tips of my chrysanthemum I can keep it short - for the balcony - or will this remove the flowering shoots.  Thanks

    There a lots of types of chrysanthemums so a photo would help us to be more accurate, but the answer is yes, probably.
    It should start branching out from the side and those shoots will produce the flowers
