Veg & fruit advice please

We have 2 large raised vegetable beds which, last year, had cabbage, kale, lettuce, & cauliflower but they were all badly eaten. We regularly put organic pellets around the veggies but we also had a bad insect infestation which we found out us off eating some of these veggies. Can anyone please advise what else, if anything we can do, to prevent an insect infestation in this year’s plants.

Depends on how large, but you could consider netting them with a fine mesh, such as enviromesh or fine mesh builders debris netting.  You only need to use it on susceptible crops, such as brassicas.  4mm is the maximum mesh size to keep out cabbge white  butterflies.  Envromesh will keep out smaller things like carrot fly, too.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
