Bonsai potting mix - for other plants?

Does anyone know if bonsai potting mix is suitable for other types of plants?? I’m looking to pot on some chilli plug plants, germinate some herbs and put in some bedding plants. As compost is hard to get hold of right now, apart from bonsai potting mix, I was wondering if it would be of use in anything other than bonsais...
