Distorted leaves on currant bush

Can anyone tell me what has caused this and what, if anything, should be done about. We have recently taken on caring for our neighbours neglected fruit and veg and are struggling somewhat as they don't know what they have  (except bindweed and ground elder).
Any advice gratefully received.
