Vegetables for north facing, shady front garden?
in Fruit & veg
In the dig for victory spirit I'm planning to try and grow some vegetables in the front garden. Currently it's a total disaster area so having some orderly vegetables will be a big improvement. I have started seeds of round lettuce, French beans, courgettes, spinach, leeks, cabbage, beets, and other things I've forgotten (basically all the seeds I've collected in the last few years plus whatever I can buy at the local Lidl).
The soil is relatively heavy and retains water quite well, but it isn't waterlogged. It is in shade most of the day given its location on the north side of the house. My very amateur assumption is that the leafy plants will do best here and I should try to find a home for the beans and courgettes in the back garden. The problem with the back is that it is mostly paved with a small strip of soil on the east side, although I have grown a few things in tubs there in the past.
Any advice on what will work best in the front that I might not have considered?

Peas and beans will tolerate light shade but courgettes definitely want sunshine.
