Dahlias...

I lifted my dahlias this year, and stored them in boxes in the garage. Just unpacked them, and they look fine (well, not rotten...). Some are very large, and I'd like to split them. I was going to wait until they started sprouting before splitting them (then I could see where to split). What is the best way to store them until they revive?
