Help! Which pink flowering plant should I plant?

Hello - i would love any plant recommendations for this gap please.

The area gets full sun and has dry soil. I would like the plant to eventually be 4ft Ish, pink flowers for a long period and be child friendly (no prickles!)

As you can tell I am not a gardener so any tips would be greatly received! Thank you 😊

I'm struggling to work out the size of the area. It certainly needs a good digging over and some manure or compost to help water retention.
You don't say whether you want shrubs or perennials so hard to advise

    Same as K67
The area of ground in your photo looks totally under nourished and some farm yard manure would improve it. It looks like any plant will be fighting for water and nutrients with, what looks like, a mature conifer.
If possible, I would consider bringing the planting area forward from the conifer to give any plant an advantage
i would suggest possibly planting out a couple of mature hardy geraniums. I would suggest Geranium Ivan that will grow to around a meter high and has magenta pink flowers and a long flowering period if you prune back
if you prefer a shrub then suggest a Weigela Florida that grows about 6 feet high, has varigated foliage, that will contrast well with the dark green of the conifer and has pink flowers in early summer.
  • Thank you very much - I have just started the long process of removing a pampas grass that was there and fancy adding some colour.

Any shrub or perennial suggestions would be much appreciated - thank you K67 and stevedaylilly
  • Thank you very much Hexagon!
