Fresh tomatoes

Can I use the seed from fresh tomatoes to grow more,just had a food delivery

    I would leave the chosen tomato on a warm windowsill to ripen fully ... soft and a bit squidgy ... before taking the seeds. 

    Shop tomatoes aren't
    as ripe as the seeds need to be for sowing. 

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    Shop tomatoes have no flavour,same goes for cucumbers.

    Bear in mind that commercial growers and retailers have different criteria from gardeners.  You will probably be raising lily-livered plants that have been bred to grow in a controlled climate under glass and cringe at a bit of honest British weather. A couple of years ago, I raised some tomato plants that had sprouted via the compost bin.  A lot of the flowers were fasciated, and the resulting fruits belonged in a freak show.

    Try, I wouldn't rely on getting a crop though.
