What to do with shady corridor next to house?

Hi Everyone

I moved into my new house in October and have just finished the garden. I’m very happy with it and have some painting left to do now, having completed the planting. However, I have a dead space next to the house, as you can see from the photo. It’s a decent length and goes from 50cm wide at the very back to over a metre wide at the garden end. It’s in shade nearly all day due to being between two houses and gets a couple of hours sun at the very end of the day. It joins onto the patio next to the house.
What can I do with it?! I’m wondering if creating some sort of sheltered area might be best, or some lighting. It seems too good a space to waste but I don’t know what to do. Any ideas welcome!

    There's no photo I'm afraid  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I have a container garden down the side with fern, narcissus, hellebores, ajuga and dusky cranes bill if it helps- next to no direct light

Yes - plenty of planting options @bookmonster , but it sounds very narrow and therefore tricky for access, so we need to get an idea of the whole space @standbyme40 :)
