Woodland plant with early blossom ID

Can anybody ID this taken today in a nearby field?

    Possibly blackthorn - sloe. It has 5 petal flowers which bloom before leaves appear.

    I'd agree with @steephill. Looks like Blackthorn to me too.
    Mine is just starting to get a 'floral glow'  :)
    Did it have thorns?
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
