What’s this weird plant?

Hello fellow gardeners, my cobbled yard and now some of my borders are being taken over by this plant.  Does anyone know what it is and how I get rid of it (there’s a lot of it) thanks simon

Liverwort. it is harmless, and grows on the surface of wet soil.

I think its caused by damp conditions.  I get it on a table I have in the garden its a form of lichen or  fungi (not sure which) someone on here will know more about it.

Yes - I regularly have to scrape bits off pots which have been 'resting' over winter.

Damp and shade is what they [liverworts]  love, but just remove it  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Thanks all!! Liverwort it is.  The scraping has started
