Would this be unwise or against the rules?

Down the road from me is some neglected municipal planting alongside a roundabout where there are lots of nettles.  It's my habit to go and gather a big bagful about this time of year, for composting and making liquid feed.  No-one ever stops to talk to me!  Should I give it a miss this year?

I think you will be fine as long as you are not showing any symptoms and practice social distancing

Also if it is part of your daily permitted exercise, i.e. you don’t go out twice, I think that’s fine. I plan to collect some from a similarly neglected patch on my permitted daily dog walk!

Make it part of your daily walk.

Thanks everyone, I'll go soon.  And blame you lot if I get arrested.

Doris across the road is twitching at the blinds, you'll soon be reported to your nearest Stasi office.

Probably depends on how the local police will interpret the current rules.
On the UK Gov site rule #1 states:
    Stay at home
Only go outside for food, health reasons or work (but only if you cannot work from home)
You might argue that nettles make good soup (1) or have therapeutic "virtues" (2).

We can go outside to walk, run or cycle or take other forms of exercise as long as we maintain social distancing.
