Question for the crafters

AnniDAnniD Posts: 12,585
I'm hoping someone may be able to help.
My MIL knitted this hedgehog for me, and would like to knit more to raise money for the local hedgehog rescue. The stuff she used to make the spines is like a very narrow lace, about 1/2 inch, she bought it from a craft fair years ago. They used to do a dark brown, which is what she really wants, but anything would do.
I have had a look on Ebay (other sites are available),  but if anyone could help, I'd appreciate it  :)

Try these - https://www.abakhan.co.uk/haberdashery/lace.html look under frilled lace and other lace

    Or these - https://www.fabricland.co.uk/product-category/haberdashery/trimming/lace-trimming/

Never used them.  Just googled "UK+haberdashery+lace"

I have a little hedgehog like yours with lace (he lives in a basket with other hogs on the sofa!!).
Maybe think of a different colourway for your hedgehog lace?

@madpenguin, that's the type of stuff l'm looking for. I think she has plenty of white and cream wool, it's just the lacy stuff (technical description by me there !).
I know she wanted brown so it would look more hedgehoggy, but even something similar to the one she gave me would do.
Love all the hedgehogs ! 🦔
Trouble is, l reckon it must be a good 10 to 15 years since she bought it.

@Songbird-1, not Dunelm , but l know what you mean !
