It's been reported, but nothing seems to be working...again...
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • I think there must be a limit to the number of flagged posts that the system can cope with.  When we get a flood of spamming posts there’s a backlog.

https://forum.gardenersworld.com/discussion/1011369/new-build-house-2015-concrete-or-boulder-underneath-waterlogged-garden-and-moss-growing#latest Spot the spammer - first post dredging up an old post and talking nonsense. I expect an advert will follow shortly.

  • I just read through that whole discussion expecting an update and a picture of a beautiful garden.

The nonsense there instead is surely a precursor to the old spam…. 👀

The moderation is pretty low key here, in terms of visibility. I am sure it goes on but it's not obvious. I used to moderate a forum where the mods were all active users and identified clearly as mods, so that you knew what the system was, who to quote in, what rules were being broken and so forth. The fact that there is actually so very little trolling on here means they are doing a lot behind the scenes, but I'd be interested to know how many mods are actually operating. It's a thankless job, based on my experience at least, and a lot of it is done without the users knowing it's being done. Unless they are paying someone to work overnight, though, it's going to take time to clear it.
  • As I understand it, GW online has a smallish office team who keep an eye on the forum … under the watchful eye of the editor @Daniel Haynes.

Here's another example of what needs dealing with, not just spam flagging, just in case anyone's in any doubt about the sort of behaviour some people indulge in  :/

The very offensive post in this thread has been removed. As you can see - I didn't quote the person's post, but I'll leave it to your imagination...

Not very nice comment was it?

It's a repeat offender @Palustris. Someone who needs banning, but they clearly need help.
