You'll find that the root systems will be taking up a lot of room in that bed, so you'll need to ensure you add some more sustenance - not just bog standard compost, but a loam based one, or some garden soil if you have any. That will help retain some moisture too. Wind dries out the ground as well, so check the water situation in those conditions too. Ideally, you need to be in an area of regular rainfall if they're very confined like that, or have an irrigation system .
Cheers for the tips, we've had a lot of rain recently but will keep up with the watering when it doesn't rain.
I've mainly been topping the soil up with horse manure for the past year, is that ideal?
Just a quick comment, I understand that you should leave fallen bamboo leaves around the plants as they sort of provide their own fertiliser. Don't know if that's true or even where it came from but that's my excuse for leaving them Mines not a clumper as you can see by its attempts to escape.

Yeah I got told bamboo leaves are a good fertiliser option, so is grass cuttings I think.

Yes - well rotted manure will certainly help

Hopefully, you'll also be able to get some new sustenance for them in the next few months though

Your bamboo does look like its trying to escape!
