Millions of garden plants to be binned

“ Millions of plants, shrubs and trees could be binned in the coming days and weeks, meaning ruin for UK growers.

The closure of 2,000 garden centres and nurseries mean makers of what's called "ornamental horticulture" have no outlet for their plants.”

😱

And yet, as far as I’m aware, there are no plant sales going on whatsoever to sell these soon to be destroyed plants.

Id buy some.

I wouldn’t be worried about touching them. I am ordering plants from my favourite little local GC today.

IMHO "Puppy FARMS" are fairly disgusting things.

I don't know how many GC's are able to deliver - and if they are closed as non essential, as I believe they are, there won't be anyone to deliver anyway.

My local GC is offering free delivery. I am ordering plants and compost.

Well, unless they were edible, I think there's more important worries.

If they can't deliver, it's certainly wouldn't be top of my priorities. :/
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I know two garden centres by me doing deliveries, one I know for sure from the centre itself. Its the independent ones I'm concerned about.

If I had a van, and permission to go out, I'd happily travel and plant them in barren soil. Whenever I see patches of bare soil I have such an urge to plant something in there!

I've just ordered some asparagus plants. As far as I know Hayloft are still selling and delivering plants. it's not the end of the world if I don't get them.
