Holly bush

Hi, I have several holly bushes in our garden. One very small bush has berries the other four don't. The older and bigger bush gets berries starting to grow but never grows properly and never grows to red berries. I  have tried asking at several garden centres but no one has an answer.
Any ideas
Thanks, Jim

  • There are a number of different varieties of Holly so maybe some of the ones you have are not particularly adapted to living in the climate in your garden. There are a number of varieties that are native to the east coast of America for example and these might need a colder winter do grow to their best. Only mentioning it as a possibility.
  • Hi Thanks. were in central Scotland, Its almost like the berries start to grow then just die off.
