Sunlight or warmth

I've got some new raised beds and have sown a mix of seeds broad beans, radish, rocket, spinach, beetroot. Now I know it's probably a tad early (I'm always a bit early with seeds) and we've now had some very hard frost's. I have some large sheets of polycarbonate that I could use to create a cold frame over the beds but would the warmth benefit be be less important than the direct sunlight (the sheets are old and very cloudy ☁️☁️☁️

Well you only need the sheets when the weather is bad and at night so make them removable and problem solved.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Thanks wild edges Okidoki so best removed during the day, we're pretty new to these type of veg. We used to grow lots of salad in large pots and some reasonably unsuccessful caulis and broccoli so this is branching out into a different and apparently easier direction.
