    No!  Dry it out a bit, the soil Shrinks, helps get it out.   I mean really dry.  Cornus are fairly draught tolerant so no harm.    Also it might come out easy if it's only been anted a year or too. 

    Also cornus are rock hard, you could year it to bits and plant it, it would survive.

    Just do it!

    It is in burst-of-spring growing mode.  Let it dry out now and it will likely curl up and die.  Also, dry soil and a pot bound plant will not come out of that shape of pot without one or both becoming a casualty.

    Cornus are tough, but not that tough.
