oops! didn't mean to post so quick..... i'm wondering how best to germinate. i have them very lightly covered in seed compost, in a tray, in a unheated propogater in the greenhouse. my fear is the greenhouse temperature swings too much. would they be better in the house? i think 20 degrees is about right?
i know they're going to be a many year project before planting out, but i quite fancy the idea of seeing what hybrids i get.
I'd leave them on the staging, no heat required. You may be disappointed with what comes up, normally a bit wishy washy unless you've been very clever, or very lucky.
Thanks. Appreciate the hybrids could be poor but I'm hoping if we get one or two nice plants from 20 or 30 seedlings I will be happy. We have a lot of space to fill so free plants are great even if not premium specimen.
