How to trim this apple tree?

Just moved into new house and lovely apple tree needs a trim. Any suggestions most welcome. Thank you 😊

    I’m hoping for a few apples. We’ve just moved in so we don’t know what’ll happen next. Don’t know what kind of apples we’ll get.

    It looks like it has been majorly trimmed before the house was put up for sale, hence all the watershoots. These should have been summer pruned to a few buds to produce fruit this year. By winter pruning it again, you will stimulate more upright shoots. You must trim these back in late summer to stimulate fruit bud growth.  You will probably get some fruit from branches you didn't cut. You may be able to identify the variety from that.   Some apples are what are known as tip bearers.  This type get minimal pruning, otherwise you remove all the fruiting wood.
