Very Quiet in Aldi today

I have just been in our local Aldi which is always very busy. I have never seen it so quiet.

I always park around the corner as it is a nightmare battling the carpark. The carpark was approximately quarter full.

I had heard stories from this week about the queues and panic buying. I wasn't holding out much hope of getting what I needed. The store was fully stocked, apart from toilet rolls and half empty shelves of beer and wines.

Anyone with trolleys were not piled high with panic bought stuff.

I was rather shocked. I have not been able to get bread since Wednesday as when I have been able to go to a shop the shelves have been emptied during the day when I have been working.

Hoping this us the start of the end of the panic buying.

That’s definitely good news! Let’s hope they now realise their stupidity and will only buy what they need. I imagine a lot of fresh stuff has gone in the bin!

Hubby went for milk on Friday. Lidl had no milk, eggs, bread, toilet rolls, empty freezers, and empty meat and fish fridges.  He went around the corner to the little coop and they had loads of everything except loo rolls.

OH went to Sainsburys this morning and managed to get most of his mum's shopping. He said that rather than piling the shelves high with everything,  they were stocking probably around a quarter to half full and that was all. Hopefully the "OMG, We need to get 30 packs of toilet roll" lot are sitting at home surrounded by the stuff, and those of us who are slightly less bonkers can get what we need.

Spookily we're eating better than we did before. Cooking from scratch and the like. Could do with a few more carrots though😊
    In London. Keen but lazy.

Last Thursday's shopping trip has put me off from going again it was quite unsettling to be honest, obviously we need to get milk, bread, fruit and veg this week so hopefully it will have settled down by Thursday.

You’re right, how stupid of me 😜

Over the weekend some people have been posting on a COVID mutual help group on Facebook. Some of these have been offering food - one lady offered two loaves of bread that she couldn’t fit in her freezer!! 🙄
