Raspberries

Dear all,

I’ve got some amazing raspberry plants. Large fruit growing on new growth. A mixture of late and later varieties. Problem is they pop up everywhere. Even metres away from where they’re supposed to be. Even right in middle of lawn and up cracks between path and house.

Is there a way I can stop this?

thanks
Bill

Only if you dig up every scrap of the plants, including the original clump but then you'd have no lovely raspberries.

Maybe a barrier round your raspberry patch but it would have to be like rabbit fencing with a good part of the barrier buried below rooting level to stop the self propagating via runners.

I planted a raspberry patch in 2017 and surrounded them with this

So far so good - no escapees yet
I left about 2" above ground to stop roots creeping over the top
