Dear all,
I have a love hate with this bush. It is infested with viburnum beetles. It looks lovely now, and always flowers early like this. Later in year it looks messy and ugly. It used to have birds nest in it, but since wife got cats, no more birds.

Now I’m considering chopping it down and replacing it. I’ve cut out many parts as they are dead (you can see some dead areas). Firstly do you think it should go? Secondly, to be replaced with what? I was thinking a couple of smaller silver birch as replacement.
