Another puzzle...can anyone help?

I’ve just been doing some weeding in the borders around my house. I’m one of those people who will dig when and where you say but know very little about plants. I apologise for my ignorance but can someone tell me if this is a plant or a weed before I get rid of it please? It’s spread out over the ground with green leaves and what looks like purple flowers developing. It also has very thin wiry stems forming a lattice over the ground. A bit like ivy I guess.

Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks.

Ed

Ajuga reptans?  Ground cover plant with green, purple or variegated leaves and little spikes of blue flowers that pollinators love.

That was my thought too @Obelixx.
It can be a nuisance, and can spread quite rapidly @Edward.francis, but it's easy enough to pull out if it gets a bit rampant. Not very deep rooted   :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
