Insect Egg identification

Hi all,
Can anyone help identify these insect eggs? I saw them last year on a different plant but was never able to ascertain what came out of them. They appear to be too large for aphids I normally see, 3-6mm. Perhaps some sort of white fly? The sheer amount of them concerns me.

It's a bit hard to tell but I can see some legs and eyes so I suspect they are a type of aphid rather than eggs. There's definitely an aphid in the top photo.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

I think you might be right. They're rather large for aphids, not the usual small green ones I see that are easily knocked off with water. Might require some fat lady bugs to come along sooner than later.

There's about 600 species of aphid in the UK so size , colour and shape does vary quite a lot. Each species tends to prefer different types of plant so, as a general rule, if you see some on a new plant then they are likely to be different to the ones you see on regular plants. The normal greenfly and whitefly tend to be fairly generalist feeders though I think. Birds are already nesting in places though so hopefully many of these will be disappearing down hungry little beaks soon enough.

The lupin ones are particularly large and unpleasant looking.
Bit like something from a sci fi film  :D
You can always wipe them off for now, and hope the birds are queuing up for the next lot.... ;)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Yes I think that's where are first saw them, on my Lupin plant. I thought something was hatching out of Alien. So these are likely the same.
