Which Buddleia To Buy

Hi, I've decided on a Buddleia for my garden, south/West facing with normal/clay soil.I want it to be at least 6ft and fast growing if possible. It will be between a laurel and a Sambucus Nigra and will have about 7/8ft space between. All recommendations welcome. Thanks..

    All except the small, patio "buzz" buddleias will grow at least 6' in a season.  They need to be pruned back hard every spring to remove the old stems and then they shoot and grow again.   Just choose the colour of flower you like best.

    I totally agree with @Obelixx. It just comes down to what colour you like  :)
    I love the white ones, but the only drawback of them is that they look a bit manky when the flowers turn. You don't notice it so much on the darker ones.

    I have Black Knight, which is a dark purple, and needs minimal attention, other than the usual pruning back each year.
    There's a nice rosy purple one too if you like those colours. It might work well with your Sambucus too.  :)

    We have recently moved house and there was an out of control one blocking the shed door. I pruned it down to knee height and my other half was hyperventilating  saying I’ve probably killed it - it’s got loads of new shoots in under a fortnight 😀

    Thanks, I need to get to the garden centre before they shut up shop.

    Lots of good suppliers online @harmony. We used to have a thread for recommendations.
    I'd steer clear of Crocus, as it's hideously expensive, and it's just a retailer, rather than a nursery. Claire Austin, Burncoose and Jacksons are good.
    Not sure how many buddleias they stock, but if you start a separate thread you'll get suggestions.  :)
