Narcissus Thalia changing colour!

Hi all, wondering if anyone else has experienced or heard of this happening. I planted some Thalia bulbs 2 or 3 yes ago, in pots. Year one they came up and were gorgeous. Pure white, double headed, amazing scent. Either year 2 or 3 they came up the same shape and fragrance but yellow!!! Unless someone has played an overly elaborate prank and replaced the original bulbs I have no explanation for it. Any ideas?

Nope. It's more likely that there are other bulbs in with them  - squirrels often dig up, and bury, bulbs in other places. Or you've mixed up the pots.
There will be a simple explanation  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • I have a large clump of N. Thalia planted about 7 years ago, they are pure white every year. I've have never seen them change colour.

Colour change (mutation?) does happen from time to time with bulbs. I've not seen it with my N. Thalia, but with my N. Tazetta ‘Paperwhite Ziva’ once only.

Glad there's some evidence it's not just me! I'd only found info of it happening the opposite way, with yellow "versions" turning white. I'm used to my tulips changing colour but the daffs were a new one on me. Thank you for the reply.
