Complete Novice! Advice appreciated!
in Plants
Hi All
Firstly, to introduce myself.
My name is Anna and I live on the sunny Isle of Wight with my husband, we have lived in our first home for 2 years now and have thoroughly renovated the inside, leaving the garden in its natural state! We're finally about ready to tackle it!
Unfortunately, unlike my mum, I was not blessed with green fingers, but my husband and I are both keen to learn!
We have just put up a shed, so I think I'd like to start with some plants on and around this.
One end of the shed faces the house and is North Westerly facing, I have the idea of fitting a trellis and planting some kind of climber in a couple of long rectangle pots, and also fit some half-moon baskets under the windows of the shed that face south easterly.
What sort of climbing plant would do well on a northeasterly wall that can be potted, and what plants in baskets, trailing or not would do well in facing southeasterly?
Apologies for my ignorance with terminology etc, I am a complete novice with gardening in every sense of the word, but as I said, we're both looking forward to spending some time outside and getting the garden up and running!
We're also going to dig up our lawn and plant grass seed as quite a lot of the grass has been destroyed during renovations!
Thanks for your help.
