Not every drier is able to be positioned near the vent @Lizzie27, hence the length of hose. It should have been possible to fix it to the fitting for the vent end though. The condensing ones are certainly easier, although I had a really duff one years ago which put me off them for a long time. The problem with those boxes @Songbird-1, is - you still have to open a window, which defeats the purpose completely! Might as well stick the hose out of it My 'new driver' daughter is looking like a very good car parker. The dreadful parking you see everywhere always makes us laugh - or makes us furious. I had to be good at parallel parking from an early stage. Would never have got parked anywhere near my flat if I wasn't.

I remember just after I learnt to drive,I carefully backed into a very tight space in a car park. I was so proud! Then I tried to get out of the car. There was only about 6" either side. 😟
Did you crawl out the back @B3? Which is fine nowadays when saloon cars are less common, and most are hatchback. I suppose if you have a sunroof that helps too When I was taking fairylet out in my car [ quite large] she used to get annoyed if she didn't park it well. If only all the other folk did the same....

Fair dos @Songbird-1. Glad it's working for you. Don't want you tripping. Luckily mine is near the window, and I thought of getting a vent put in, but the condenser heats up the kitchen too, so it's win, win
I'm hopefully avoiding using mine today - the sun has managed to struggle through, so fingers crossed.... @B3- I had one of those as my first car. It had belonged to the mother of a co worker, and had hardly been used. It conked out after about two months

Ours lasted for many years and was even drivable onto the car hearse that took it away. The Stromberg carburettor was a pain though. I still have the special key for adjusting it. The best thing was, no electronics. My dad could always do the maintenance and repairs.
One of the best things I ever did with a tumble dryer was give it away to the local battered wives shelter back in 1984. Horrid, energy hungry machines. We use an airer instead.

I very smugly parked at right angles to the kerb in a Smart Car, as shown in the early ads to demonstrate how space saving and easy to park they were. Returned to find myself boxed in either side and couldn’t open either door. Fortunately it was the soft top version with a button on the key fob to open the roof. Was pretty embarrassing climbing in the roof through. I parked like everyone else from that day forward.
