I don't like multi coloured sweet peas though @Hostafan1 - I only like certain colours

    Control freak me  ;)
I used to be the same, but I grow them down on " The allotment" so I can select the flowers I want to cut and bring indoors.
£1 for 5 packs is the important factor in my choice.

You're living up to the stereotypical 'tight Scot' even  more than me @Hostafan1 :D
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I see nothing to be proud about spending more than one has to, lol ( I'm sticking with that line )

I've got a neighbour who leaves her porch light on 24 hours a day and she calls me tight for mentioning it, I call her stupid for sending more money than she needs to, to her electricity supplier.
I'd rather be considered "tight" than "stupid".

Couldn't agree more. I suppose some people have a different view of their priorities, but when you consider you can get ones with movement sensors etc, she could at least save money investing in one of those. There's the dusk till dawn ones too, if you want to deter interlopers in an unlit, quiet area. We had those at the [semi rural] last house.

No one is benefiting from a 24 hour light except the suppliers.

The funniest??? thing is , that they NEVER  use the door where the light is. It's on old cottage and they've a curtain and  a piece of furniture behind the door. It's been on for the 8 years we've lived here.

    How weird  :|
They'd be better with one of those battery operated ones. Rechargeable batteries make them very viable too.

I've got colleagues who never buy , eg, a box of 5 eggs because one is broken, or fruit passed its "display until " date.
All the more for me I say.

I've come downstairs in the morning to find sweetpeas seedlings on the window sill have been nipped off. I've never seen any other evidence of mice in the house, but the tops were gone. A clean slice. Ghost mice.
