how how do I make my eucalyptus tree bush out sideways, it’s a year old and roughly 6ft

    Chop it down, almost to the ground and it will grow back in a more shrub like form.
    I do this [ coppicing ] every year to my Eucalyptus plants.

    Cut it down hard to about 30cm or a foot high, this month. You will then get multiple new shoots coming up from the bottom. If you pollard it every year or every other year , you will keep it as a multistemmed bush rather than a tree.

    Hello steph.jarrett. It is probably better to leave your eucalyptus alone for another year and then you could think about removing the top of the leading growth. If you do that too early it may kill the tree. There is a lot of helpful information here:

    I’m going with Punkdoc on this one. Chop down, it will shoot from the bottom.

    Were you after a final bushy tree,or a shrub?  I cut down the main trunk on mine,and its bushed out well,I wanted a tree for shade.

    I have five very tall eucalyptus trees that have startedto get yellow leaves dropping off and when I look at the leaves there are brown raised bumps as if something is wrong.

    Unlikely to be a problem.
    These trees do shed some older leaves in June/July.
    If the tree otherwise looks healthy, I don't think you need be concerned.
    If they are loosing vast amounts of leaves that could be a different matter, please post a photo.
