I was in one of my polytunnels yesterday removing last year's dried up foliage/ flower stems from my Hostas. There are over 1,000 in there and I've no place to plant them.
Why am I still looking at websites???
    NO!! It never ends.

Golly @Hostafan1 - Why ? I could understand 100 of the same plant maybe, but 1000?  I think you should start a nursery (or do you already have one?).

there's a nursery I've bought from in Holland which has 3,365 different varieties listed. I've "only " got about 200 varieties.

    Wow!,
How do you manage or control slugs?
I love my Hosta's (only about dozen or so) but the slimey little b****rs turn them into lacework, my ligularia foliage too.
    Drive me nuts...

I rely on frogs, toads and hedgehogs and thrushes.
Maybe the sheer number overwhelms the slugs?? tee hee.

Maybe so, I'll just have to keep dividing and dividing mine and hopefully eventually get some kind of mass display so the damage is not so noticeable.
Once they start they decimate the plants and leave them such a mess.
Do you find or know of any particularly slug resistant varieties?

Some are better than others, but no guarantees. Big chunky types, like Sum and Substance, Jurassic Park and Blue Angel are better than most.
