What veg do you recommend which will suitable for pots/tubs and be early-cropping?

In the spirit of growing your own fruit and veg, and just in case we need to plan for supplementing food shortages, I am trying to plan my fruit and veg sowing/planting. I currently grow all my veg in pots or tubs as I find this easier for pest-control and my sister has a couple of raised beds. I don’t have a greenhouse…
