I don't know whether I can lower them. I can't remember @Mr. Vine Eye, did your GG cane break at the join or some way up? I really didn't push hard when mine went. I am hoping if I support the bottom half of the cane I can get a bend in the top. And I keep thinking, without worrying about it I got my first 2 similarly monster canes on that rose really horizontal, but when they were older. So given I have 3 I may try multiple things. For today though I will attempt a minor top bend with string.
@poppyfield64 As Mr. Vine Eye said. I only want to add you don't need to dry the seeds but you need to clean the rosehip flesh off them, it contains germination inhibitors. Also, the hips don't need to be completely red and soft, the seeds are ready earlier, approx. when the hip is turning or when it is partially red.
Another impulse buy today from my local garden centre (I'll never learn)...'Bonica', but has anyone any experience of growing it, is it as floriferous and disease resistant as the info suggests, or will it go the same way as two other impulse buys and end up a BS nightmare.
It's not completely finished yet. Need to go back with some better scissors to get through the underlay and I've got some more to do around the edges but this was enough for today!
....roses doing well, and very impressive pond.. I like the beach.. I'm not quite sure about the rocks at the bottom though, is that what you're supposed to do?.. I don't think I've seen it in other ponds as such.. just wondered as to its purpose, not criticising or anything, I think it looks great..
@peteS ...yes very healthy rose and blooms all the time... it is one of the world's truly great roses, albeit with little fragrance... but it will soon outgrow your pot..
@Marlorena - just to make some extra places for things to hide at different depths - Id seen/read conflicting advice. Since I might end up having to wait til Spring to get plants for it there won’t be any other cover available for a while. So I decided to put some in and then I can always lift them or move them when plants go in. They’re fairly light cobbles and I can reach to the bottom.

Lady of shallott and Summer song. They aren't usually this orange, but cool weather bunch is bright in colour.
@newbie77 your roses are beautiful.....so bright and cheerful. Nice crop of tomatoes too.
Left my camera at work so had to use my phone for these but they're not actually too bad.
Desdemona - all munched up by caterpillars down below, but has lots of new buds on.
