I don't know whether I can lower them.  I can't remember @Mr. Vine Eye, did your GG cane break at the join or some way up? I really didn't push hard when mine went. I am hoping if I support the bottom half of the cane I can get a bend in the top. And I keep thinking, without worrying about it I got my first 2 similarly monster canes on that rose really horizontal, but when they were older. So given I have 3 I may try multiple things. For today though I will attempt a minor top bend with string.

@poppyfield64 As Mr. Vine Eye said. I only want to add you don't need to dry the seeds but you need to clean the rosehip flesh off them, it contains germination inhibitors. Also, the hips don't need to be completely red and soft, the seeds are ready earlier, approx. when the hip is turning or when it is partially red.
  • Thanks @edhelka that's really good to know as I thought they had to be completely red before opening for the seeds.

@newbie77 your roses are beautiful.....so bright and cheerful.  Nice crop of tomatoes too.
  • @Marlorena - just to make some extra places for things to hide at different depths - Id seen/read conflicting advice. Since I might end up having to wait til Spring to get plants for it there won’t be any other cover available for a while. So I decided to put some in and then I can always lift them or move them when plants go in. They’re fairly light cobbles and I can reach to the bottom.
