Yesterday I went round all my roses deadheading. After I was happy that even though I'd removed so many ( it's being a good year) there were plenty to continue. Last night we had a BIG storm and it poured. This morning the Celebration are a reck, and the others are battered. 😭😭😭
Aphrodite looks beautiful Katsa, so exciting to see the first blooms on a new rose 😍
Sorry to hear that purpleallim, that’s happened to so many of mine too in these recent storms 😕
Went and re-sniffed Teasing Georgia, beautiful flowers but definitely only a light scent.
Olivia RA is kind of a perfect clear pink rose, and more scented than TG.
Put these two together to show a colour combination I think looks nice...Munstead Wood and Lady Emma Hamilton. Awkward angle trying to hold the two stems together 😝
Starting to fill in over in this corner now. Lots of flowers
And over here. Ghislaine de Feligonde at the back. Rhapsody in Blue slowing down.
Ghislaine still going much more pinky than I'd expected. Despite starting more apricot when they first open than last year. Maybe next year it'll change again.
And another thing... wretched saw fly. I have managed to catch a few adults in the process of laying and also the larvae have been squished along with the aphids
OMG you have amazing roses! :O Let me share ours It is in the family's garden. Can someone pls tell me, what kind of rose is it? Unfortunately I don't know - it was a gift from an old friend
The weather here has been rather haphazard lately.. with alternating sunshine and rain.. I noticed this rather gorgeous sunset couple of days ago.. The sun was shining brightly behind the thick clouds creating this amazing effect.. these pictures are without any filters/editing..
You know I have tons of photos, too many to post in one day/one post. So I start with Gabriel Oak and post the best of others later. Gabriel deserves to have all these photos posted here.
This is not just a good DA, this is something much more exceptional. The best DA? The holy grail of roses? The perfect pink? I'll reserve the judgement for later. But I think I'll have to buy more of them.

My Aphrodite has bloomed. It looks quite comical as the flowers are bigger than the plant!
They smell divine though!

My first rose ever: Susan Williams-Ellis from last week. Very beautiful, but plants are still pretty pathetic?
Let me share ours
