Missed you. If only the site had gone down a day earlier I wouldn't be getting an Alexander delivered today. Meanwhile Bathsheba and Teasing Georgia flowered
And Wollerton Old Hall has given me its first flower, I love the petal edges. Smells lovely
And you know how we discussed the excitement of a potted rose being delivered all ready to go ? Here's my Absolutely Fabulous rose, delivered on Saturday

Tack those are beautiful, does your TG have a strong fragrance? It's listed as such but on mine I only get a light fragrance. Maybe I should go out and give a re-sniff...

I would complain about the Ab Fab :/ Is it ok to know where it was purchased from?

As a newbie I don't know whether I should name and shame @Omori, on the one hand the nursery who operates through another shopfront has refunded, on the other the other roses in the order are not great either and while mistakes happen how on earth can you put that dead rose in a box alongside 3 green and tall ones?

TG scent not strong yet, I hope for more too

I guess it's a personal choice with what you feel comfortable with, Tack. I've named and shamed :D I think companies should be held accountable for shoddy behaviour, there's really no excuse for shipping that AbFab but if it's a generally good nursery, perhaps it was someone new or who knows...I think it then comes down to the customer service response. But then again, if the other roses were also not up to par, then maybe it's an overall problem.

I just received an order from SGC, herbaceous perennials...they were minuscule, barely more than rooted cuttings. Now I know they're (generally) cheap so I guess you get what you pay for, but sometimes those experiences can sour you.

I was upset by the delivery after all that anticipation, the other roses were both poorly packaged and thus damaged and also atrociously pruned before this growing season so I'll need to do remedial work.   I went and searched online, it is not some small nursery and I note that YG gets very mixed reviews.

I'm really sorry Tack, that would be so disappointing. They don't sound like they care much about their plants :/

That's kind of you @Omori . I placed that order very early in lockdown and before realising I needed to do more research and a rose is something you really want decent specimens of from a good grower to get a good start. I know better now.
