Magnolia yellow bird

I have seen a yellow magnolia for sale which is stunning. I already have a huge magnolia and on Sarah Raven they are selling a beautiful yellow magnolia. It says it is a half standard.
Can I grow this in a pot or will it die? How big will it get?

    You can grow this one in a large pot (60cm or larger) and it will only grow to about 2m due to the root restriction.
    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

    Pleased to have just seen this thread ; my wife has ordered one of these from Thompson & Morgan for 14.99 .
    Should arrive anytime after March 6 ; have already decided on a good site for it in the garden . I was going to grow it in a large pot , but decided on a 'free root-run' .

    I was just fully aware of our 15ft+ magnolia in the garden already... but it has been there for 30+ years.
