    Always difficult on an island @Posy  

    Lots of beautiful advantages, but lots of disadvantages too.
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Yes, Fairygirl, it's a lovely place to live and I'm glad every day that I'm here! It's a pain to get plants, though....

    I completely understand @Posy.
    It's the same in Scotland - extra postage and packing for anything in the Highlands and Islands, so everything there is more expensive.  :/

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    I should have added that I understand why people don't use garden centres as they are expensive, and they don't always have what we want. I use them to fill up baskets and tubs but I grow most things from seed. I am happy to use the internet for plugs, or anything else that I can't get elsewhere. The garden centres do tend to concentrate on coffee shops and Christmas decorations nowadays, but I doubt they would be selling anything as garden ready at the moment unless they want people to buy twice.
