For such a relatively plain shrub, it's amazing how addictive they are. We bought four new varieties to add to our collection last Autumn, and my favourite of them is Golf Ball.
I have a pittosporum in my garden, it has lemon-yellow flowers and the most wonderful lemony scent. It is inclined to flower on and off all year round.
I planted 12 P. Golf Ball around my drive. I planted them Spring 2021 I planted them 1.3m apart - just so that 12 would fit. I may attempt some pruning to make the rounder, but pruning things into shapes isn't a strong point..

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
Our Wrinkled Blue is a single plant. It’s now a 6ft high clipped column which is about 2-3ft wide. It could be 6ft wide had we not trimmed it twice a year, but ours is almost 10 years old.
I assume you won’t want it to take too long to become a continuous hedge, so would suggest about 3ft apart. It partly depends on the size of your plants, the quantity you have, and the length you need to cover.

@KeenOnGreen I have x10 wrinkled blues in 3L pots, but they're quite tall for the pot size, probably 80-100cm. I intend to prune them in spring to try and get a good start on a dense hedge. I'm trying to plant a 4.6m long hedge which means spacing of 46cm if I use what I've got. I've read so many different recommendations on spacing, from 1 per metre all the way up to 4 per metre. That's why I was looking for thoughts from someone who's grown them before. I think 46cm should be fine (the supplier recommended 18" spacing which is how I arrived at x10) but looking for a second opinion. I could always get a few more if advisable. Thanks!
I love Pittosporum. I have not come across Pittosporum tenuifolium Wrinked Blue so went to RHS site...to read about it. I couldn't believe the pic there...every single shoot had been trimmed ..no young leaves to be seen.Very very odd choice of image.
I agree @Silver surfer Here's some of mine, taken a minute ago, but probably no new shoots. It's one of my favourites.
We used to have a very stunning 8ft Pittosporum when we moved to this house, but sadly had to cut it down, when building our summerhouse. I never did find out the variety, but would love to know, if anyone has any ideas.

Did leaf edges turn red in winter?
