Overwintered dahlias not shooting - but is it still too early?

So I built up my dahlia stock last year for the first time so apologies if I’m a bit protective over them...

They were all in individual plastic pots and I’ve overwintered them in the same pots but completely dry and under cover so protected from frost and rain....

When is the norm for tubers to start shooting, or rather predictions what with the weird weather we are having....

    Much too early yet.  Keep them dry for another couple of weeks and then only moisten them if there are no heavy frosts about.   They will start to shoot and produce fresh roots in late March or April, depending on how sheltered they are.

    I store mine dry wrapped in newspaper, I've just started potting them up but I can give them some protection but not artificial warmth. No signs of actual shoots from the tubers, too early, but if you examine the "shoulders" i.e. Where the old stem joins the tuber you can see little growth bumps/buds.
