What is this shrub and can I move it?

  • They can be cut back hard and will come back, so suggest doing that.  Some roots will undoubtedly be damaged when removing it, and by cutting off a lot of the stems and leaves they won't be sucking energy and water from the remaining roots, allowing new ones to grow and establish.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

Every time I've moved a shrub I like, it suffers and then the ones I'm not bothered about thrive.

Looks to me like P.laurocerasus 'Otto Luyken' .
