Waking up bananas

Hi all this is clearly premature but when should I start to wake up my abysinnian bananas ?

I'm having to have an operation on my shoulder and heavy gardening will be a no go for quite a while so trying to plan stuff for my wife.

We do work as a team but she will never shift them as they weigh a ton was hoping to shift them to the greenhouse at earliest opportunity

Mine are in the polytunnel and haven't properly gone to sleep this winter.
    Devon.
  • Mine like yours are in my shed with my Canna's are all wrapped up for the hard frost/snow etc, which as yet we've had none.

Dare I take em out yet as this winter has been so mild apart being so wet.

  • Our canna is in the dark garage ... not quite asleep ... think it’s going to need a bigger pot this year ...

Start of April is when I normally let my Musa Basjoo brave the elements again, but they are a little more hardy so perhaps May if you want to be on the cautious side. Never had any loss / damage in April though
