Cimicifuga simplex 'Atropurpurea' seeds

How would you go about sowing Cimicifuga simplex 'Atropurpurea' seeds at this time of year? I was thinking of sowing them in a plastic box with a lid and leave them outside in a shaded area. I noticed it says on most websites to sow them in the autumn but the little bag I received them in says to plant them immediately. Oh, the dilemma :)

    In my experience not the easiest seeds to germinate, they need a period of cold stratification and often take several months to germinate.
    If I were starting them now, I would give them a few weeks in heat, then a few weeks in the fridge, then back into normal temperature, then wait and wait and wait.

    Hi punkdoc, thanks for your response. Yes, I've heard the same, that they're not easy to germinate. I'll follow your advice and cross my fingers :)
