Anenome blanda... any sign yet?

We put some white anenome blanda in our garden last year and they were lovely. We’ve since put a bark mulch in the area and my wife thinks I may have killed them off as they haven’t appeared yet. Is it still a bit early to be expecting to see them? Am I still in with a chance of being spared my wife’s wrath...?

    I have a few blue ones. They have been in flower for about a week.

    Whereabouts are you Posy? And are they newly in or pre-existing?

    I'm in the Isle of Wight and we are having a VERY mild winter. They have been there for at least 5 years, could be more.

    No sign of the ones I planted here in North Shropshire. They are under a bark mulch too.

    These grow wild in the woods near our last house so get buried under another layer of beech leaves and dying bracken every autumn.   They usually flowered after the wild daffs which would be out in the second half of Feb or early March depending on how cold winter had been.   Then there'd be the bluebells.  Fabulous sights, all three.

    Dodged the rain  and had a look. they are just beginning to show through.
