The Strange Case of The Chickens Egg in a Raised bed

I was digging down about 20 inches into my 5 year old raised bed and found a clean whole chickens egg !!

I suspect Dove has been playing tricks on me again !

Any suggestions...........foxes.
Everyone is just trying to be Happy.....So lets help Them.

    @ woman next door to me leaves them out for the foxes.

    It's usually foxes. I find them in my beds too. Very delicate work, though, burying a whole egg.

    Plenty of foxes around here and a couple of years ago I was digging in the garden and my dog was also pawing at something. I went to have a look and it was a small Camembert, still wrapped that she had dug up...

    :) if it had been Parmesan I'd have kept it for myself - have you seen the price of the stuff!!
    Maybe the foxes were so well fed they didn't need to bury cheese in Pepys' day
