The top photos look like wind damage. Bay is very susceptible to cold winds (and we've been having a bit of that). Especially where you get a line and only one tree affected, tends to be either the wind swirling about or uneven access to water for some reason.
I can see what B3 means about deformed leaves though. It may just be the photo. Do have a look under any leaves that seem to be misshapen for critters using them as food/shelter.

There's a few other ones too. I've been growing them for over forty years😣 and it looks like aphids to me but i could be wrong. It's best to pick them off anyway. I keep mine pruned so that might be why I've never seen a healthy one drop leaves in the winter.
