Oscillating hoe

Just bought one of these oscillating hoe's and have to say it's great.  I done 2 thirds of my garden in 30mins with ease it just glides back and forth , just dont force it . Really recommend it

I used like a rake and it sliced through the weeds .
Anyone else use this
Thanks
Baz

  • I've looked at them and wondered if they were worth splashing out on... I still use my grandpa's old hoe, sharpened regularly.  But it's good to have your recommendation.   :)
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
  • They're so good at clearing large areas. I've used one for about 8 years as my main hoe.  That particular one isn't the strongest though. A friend broke hers after a few uses.

GlasgowDan where do you buy yours from as I'll be using this as my main hoe from now
  • I use Glaser ones. They wear out (eventually) before they break. Superb tools.

I fancy getting an oscillating hoe. I see Glaser do different size heads, which size of hoe do most folk find useful? I realise it depends on the gaps between the plants, but is there a typical size to go for?

Ended up getting a Kent & Stowe oscillating hoe which I really like and makes light work of the job.
