Cirsium Atropurpureum root cuttings

WilderbeastWilderbeast Posts: 1,415
Hi all, has anyone had any luck propagating cirsium Atropurpureum from root cuttings ? With have 3 in the garden but want lots more and they do seem rather pricey. Have read a few articles saying that they won't grow from root cuttings then find 2 gardener's world presenters recommended it. Any advice most welcome.

They divide easily, in my experience.

Thanks Punkdoc, how brave can I be with divisions would a decent clump make more than 2 plants ? It can be so different between plants how far you go with divisions, I split a single pulminaria into about 20 plants last year yet some plants will only just bear being split in half

I have done a few over the years and I have just split them in half.
Lovely plant, a real Bee magnet.
